Why South Korea has to instigate Jasmine Revolution in North Korea

My Debate Arguments!!

According to wikipedia, an original jasmine revolution refers to the December-January mass uprising in Tunisia that overthrew president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali on January 15. The revolution was named Jamine Revolution by the media in keeping with the geopolitical nomenclature of ‘colour revolutions’. The movement grew over the issues of unemployment, food inflation, corruption, lack of freedom of speech and poor living conditions and overflowed into Egypt where it has been raging. Also in China, 2011, another Jamine Revolution broke out inspired by Tunisian revolution. By these sources, our group concluded that a jasmine revolution is a revolution in which citizens ask their government for democratic society through the usage of various media, social networking sites and others.
Before moving on to real discussions, it is especially important to note some common background information on current North Korean society. Formally called Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, people here now suffer from human right violations, suppressions of freedom on just about everything, structural violence, hereditary power succession, and so forth. Kim Jung Il, the current dictator, succeeded North Korean founder Kim Il Sung in 1994 after his death, making the first father-to-son succession of power in a communist state. Kim Jung Eun has succeeded his position and now ruling the country.
We have 3 ways to do this, but the North Korean government is not capable of doing reformation right now. Other countries cannot intervene here because of the violation of sovereignty, and the current situation does not let them to.
This house believes that South Koreans should actively participate and instigate jasmine revolution on North Korea for the good of both North and South Korea plus the world. There are 3 main reasons for this, and the first is because South Korea is most knowledgeable about North Korea and its society among the countries around the world, the second is because of economic and security related repercussions and lastly, because North Koreans desperately need OUR help.

1. North and South Koreas have been together for 5000 years, a long long history we now show off, and it’s been only 50 years since North and South were separated from each other. We now typically think North and South Koreas are too different from each other and are impossible to get them back together. People believe they now are totally different countries that they have no special relation that distinguishes them from other countries. However, as our long history proves, North Korea’s closest friend in South Korea, although Kim family don’t permit us to be. As we’re most knowledgeable when it comes to North Korean society and ideolgy inherent inside them, it should be us who are helping them in order to lead the revolution most efficiently as possible.
Moreover, South Korea has experienced a lot of struggles to free themselves from dictatorship from 1948, when 이승만 first started to rule until 1993, when 노태우 ended its period and gave up his position. People united and struggled for freedom with their own wills and skills, which were extraordinary. Since we’re the ‘experienced talents, and although the current situation is slightly different from that time period, our help would surely be great aids for them.

2. North Koreans are not aware of democratic ideology at all. Therefore, we must help these peeple. Besides, although North Korean citizens do think about this, they do not know how to, and plus they’re not very organized, the population and ideology spreaded. According to Chosun Ilbo, North Koreans have already instigated several protests against the government but the scale of the protests were small and sporadic. Thus, we must meddle in here and structurize these, letting them know how to do this.

3. Other than North Korea’s benefit, the instigation of Jasmine Revolution is for the security of South Korea and the world, along with the economic benefit for South. The initial reason we try to instigate Jamine Revolution in North Korea is to make citizens struggle and ultimately free themselves from cruel dictatorship of Kim family. If this succeeds, the unity of North and South would be much closer to our hands, and will probably be united, although it WILL take some time. By then, South and the rest of the world wouldn’t have to fear from North Korea’s threats that it has nuclear weapon and will drop it wherever they don’t like. Other than that, considering that North Korea has made a lot of threats towards both South Korea and US, we will definitely be free from these. In addition to this, North Korea owns tons of crude materials underground, along with profound amount of sea resources, only that North does not have enough level of technology to drag them up on the ground and actually use them. When united, we will be able to get access to those valuable resources and this would enhance the economy of both North and South Korea considerably.

Outline for term paper - Mr. Ganse's AP European History Class

I. Introduction
II. Definition
   II.1. Paper money and Banknote
ü  The definition of banknote is a kind of negotiable instrument made by a bank payable to the bearer on demand, used as money. Today, banknotes and paper money refer to the same thing, with the national bank guaranteeing its value. However, when they first appeared, private institutions were guaranteeing the value of banknotes, thus it was quite a different term from paper money.
   II.2. Economic Bubble
ü  A “bubble” in the world of finance is a term applied to an unusually rapid increase in stock prices or the value of some other asset such as real estate.
III. Before the emergence of paper money
ü  Currency that was widely accepted before paper money was of course, coins, usually made up of gold and silver. It was commonly accepted fact that money has to have its real value that equals to its representative value, which is why people chose gold and silver as materials for money, one of the scarcest materials.
IV. Emergence of paper money (Revolution)
ü  What I would like to point out here is that emergence of paper money is not all about changes in materials that comprise money. Emergence of paper money is about its loss of intrinsic value, which allowed mints to print money infinitely. This brought great changes in the use of money and financing by governments and other monetary institutions, thus it can be called revolution.
IV.1. Initial motive of paper money
ü  First of all, transporting gold and silver, especially in large amounts is very dangerous and costs a lot. The use of paper money greatly reduced the risk. Also, wars that broke out required great amount of money, which was not present in state coffers. As a way to finance wars and standing armies, governments printed paper money, and in the case of England, the government printed money to finance the War of Spanish Succession.
   IV.2. Sweden
ü  In Europe, the first paper money was first issued in 1660 and introduced in Sweden in 1661 by Stockholms Banco, a predecessor of the Bank of Sweden. Since Sweden was rich in copper, it had such low value that extraordinarily huge coins, which often weighed several kilgrams, had to be made. For such reason, Stockholms Banco printed banknotes that look like the first figure.
   IV.3. England
ü
   IV.4. France
ü  In the early 18th century France, it was facing huge economic crisis, when it purchased Louisiana. A Scottish economist John Law was appointed Controller General of Finances of France under King Louis XV as a purpose of saving the falling economy, so he was in control of all economic activities of France. John Law then encouraged French government to set up Bank Generale that could issue paper money. At the time, he simply thought that these banknotes could revive French economy, since paper money will lead to active money circulation thus leading to active commerce. This Bank Generale was taken from John Law to French government and was renamed ‘Bank Royale’. Instead, he established a trading company, ‘Company of West’, and later it got bigger and was renamed to ‘Mississippi Company’ which had exclusive trading privileges in France. As the rights of the company got stronger and stronger, number of investors bursted as the value of shares bursted as well.
V. Financial Scandals (Revolution)
ü  Financial scandals such as economic bubbles were inevitable if paper money emerged. Because paper money increased the money supply, it increased inflationary pressures, a fact observed by David Hume in the 18th century. The result is that paper money would often lead to an inflationary bubble, which could collapse if people began demanding hard money, causing the demand for paper notes to fall to zero.
   V.1. Sweden
ü  In Sweden, simply put, the Stockholms Banco ran out of coins to redeem its notes in 1664.
   V.2. England (South Sea Bubble)
ü
   V.3. France (Mississppi Bubble)
ü  The shares value of Mississippi Company was skyrocketing but John Law had missed something. He kept issuing paper money in order to buy his own company’s shares. In fear, investors started to sell stocks and get gold coins from January 1720, and the stock price suddenly dropped. This rise and fall of the company is overall called Mississippi Bubble.
VI. Interrupted use of paper money (Reaction)
ü  After suffering from such financial scandals, public began to distrust paper money and halted its usage for quite a long period of time. Instead, countries used gold and silver again.
   VI.1. Sweden
ü  In Sweden, the Stockholms Banco, where paper money used to be minted, ceased operating in 1664. In 1668, four years later, new bank was established but it was not permitted to issue banknotes until the 18th century.
   VI.2. England
   VI.3. France
ü  Upon hearing the news of the total collapse of Mississippi, shares Marais, a highly regarded nobleman, state: "Thus ends the system of paper money, which has enriched a thousand beggars and impoverished a hundred thousand honest men"
ü  In other words, the Mississippi Bubble had lasting effects, creating a distrust of stock companies as well as banks and paper money
VII. Establishment of National (Central) Banks (Reform)
   VII.1. Riksens Ständers Bank (Sweden)
ü  On September 17, 1668, Palmstruch's privilege to operate a bank was transferred to the Riksens Ständers Bank, operated by the parliament. Due to the failure of Stockholms Banco, this new bank was not permitted to issue banknotes until the 18th century. The Riksens Ständers Bank was later renamed Sveriges Riksbank and remains the central bank of Sweden to this day.
   VII.2. Bank of England (England)
   VII.3. Caisse d'Escompte (France)
ü  After the Mississippi Bubble, Paris became France's center of international banking and stock trades, and the Caisse d'Escompte, which is the central bank, was founded in 1776. Here, paper money was re-introduced, denominated in livres.

Harvard? What??

This is one of the quotes that were written on the desk of Harvard Library, a very well known one. To me, this short phrase always inspires me to study in spite of difficult circumstances.
“If you don’t walk today, you have to run tomorrow”
It always let me walk.
I have a song lyric that lets me cheer up. Although it’s a sad song, after humming along with this, I feel great!-and also for muslim women, this may cheer them up, and I’ll tell them, pls. wait!! I’ll get there sooon!
It’s not a feeling like when you touch a flame
No, it’s not like when someone calls you a bad name
It’s not like the hurt when you slip and fall down
No, it’s not like anyof these, what I’ve found is
Your love hurts like a paper cut, so sweet
never even feel the slice; you’re so deep
It seems so hard as, but only at first
Cause like a paper cut the pain grows worse.
Oh, oh
It’s not so much in the words that you don’t say
It’s when you act in the distant, cold way
It’s more in your eyes how you look at me
Like you no longer care for what I see
Your love hurts like a paper cut, so sweet
never even feel the slice; you’re so deep
It seems so hard as, but only at first
Cause like a paper cut the pain grows worse.
You had to go and show me just how good, your love could be
Then you threw it all away
Now I can’t help but feel a brand new pain
So I’m asking baby, please stay.
Your love hurts like a paper cut, so sweet
never even feel the slice; you’re so deep
It seems so hard as, but only at first
Cause like a paper cut the pain grows worse.
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
The pain grows worse
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
The pain grows worse
Oh, oh
The pains grows worse

International Intervention on Muslim Countries - From Mr. Moon's Class

When we were young, we were told to act just the way our parents or teachers tell us to. “Come back by eight if you want to play outside!”, “Don’t do your hair like that and wear proper clothes!” are words we hear a lot of times during childhood and teenage years. However, luckily, we get out of this imprisonment by the time we become old enough to take care of ourselves and live responsibly. Now, let us imagine that this imprisonment continues forever, until the moment of your death, from people who are not related to you at all. Some people might want to commit suicide or they might want to raise a riot. There are people who actually go through this. They are Muslim women. Therefore, as an intention to rescue these people from viscious cycle, international forces are intervening directly to the situation.

Muslim women are deprived their rights in all kinds of ways. One of the discriminations they get is honor killing. This term exists in a lot of religions, but the severity and cruelty exceeds the line in Islam. This authorizes Muslim men to kill any women whose beliefs are other than Islam and those who betrayed their husbands and ran away. Victims of this unreasonable practice are reported everyday in media, but Islam men still adhere strongly to this custom. Also, Muslim women are not allowed to laugh out loud or talk loudly outside. They also should not show their body parts except their eyes to see. This is why Muslim women cover their faces, bodies, arms and legs with Hijab and black blankets. Even with all these clothes, they should not make eye contacts with guys other than their husband or father. Of course, they cannot participate in politics at all, and kicked out of the field even if they make it entering the politics world with so much difficulty. Lastly, they are deprived so much of education, even very primary and fundamental education.
A key to solving this problem is putting an end to international interference. One of the reasons is that individual countries have their own sovereignty, the power that a country has to govern itself or another country or state. No matter what actions the Muslim countries’ governments take, it still is a government, with public officials organized in a certain system. Therefore, the international society has to treat it as a proper government and recognize its right as a sole country. Besides, there are plenty of other solutions to the problem that global leaders have not tried yet, other than direct intervention to the problematic country. For instance, opening peace conferences with countries like Afghanistan and negotiating to reach middle ground of both sides might work, a solution international society has never even tried before.
Moreover, the intervention from different countries will only cause disruption inside the country, not only disturbing its system but also threatening the innocent citizens’ lives. For example, military forces of United States and other countries have been put into countries like Afghanistan and they actually created thousands of casualties, including deaths. Thus, Muslims are living in fear everyday, feeling insecure about their lives. This is ironic to goals the military troops declared at the first place; the protection of human rights. Being a cause of fear and serious casualties is certainly not opposed to protecting human rights.
Even after the Taliban had left, the Muslim women are still suffering from life threats and severe discrimination, and  the world already proved itself, by experience, that interference from international society does not work and ironic in a way that it is opposed to humanitarian goal of the international society. Now it is time to try new, innovative solutions to the problem instead of keep sending troops in Afghanistan again and again, killing innocent Afghan citizens.

Omnipotent, recollections and dayfly

Me in a NAVER dictionary:
Omnipotent: [ADJ] Someone or something that is omnipotent has complete power over things or people.
Recollection: [NOUN] If you have a recollection of something, you remember it.
Dayfly: [NOUN] A mayfly is an insect which lives near water and only lives for a very short time as an adult.

If I were given just five seconds to describe myself, I would say, 'I'm omnipotent, a recollection and a dayfly at the same time'. It's not a normal way of introducing oneself but I think these three words summarize myself most perfectly. When I say omnipotent, it doesn't mean that I'm actually omnipotent like a God but I believe in myself that I can do anything if I try hard enough. I'm a recollection of memories because I become very sentimental when I think of the past and especially when I was very young in elementary school. I tend to watch some videos my parents have taken when I was in kindergarden and it makes me feel extremely comfortable. I'm a dayfly because when I make up my mind to do something, it doesn't last longer than a day. Also, my emotions change so easily that one day I'm full of rage and then the next day I become the happiest person in the entire world.

REFLECTIVE ESSAY: The First Minjok Concert: My favorite experience in KMLA.

Invitation Letter: The First Minjok Concert

Place: Sangmyung Art Center at Sangmyung University
Cast: Students at KMLA
Time: 4:00 p.m.
Date: Saturday, November 19th, 2011.

At the start of last month, October, I walked into the Minjok Education building for my Samulnori practice, as usual, complaining this would take another self-study period. As everyone in KMLA knows, the self-study period is vital for studying for quizzes or preparing presentations in classes. We MUST use these hours very efficiently, otherwise we have no choice but to take away our sleeping hours. Anyway, when I walked into the room where we always practiced Samulnori, there was a strange guy standing beside our music teacher, acting like a real teacher. Right then our music teacher announced that this strange guy will be guiding us towards the better performance at Minjok Concert for a month temporarily. I didn't like this guy because he didn't look like a person who would be good at Samulnori. However, as soon as he started teaching us Samulnori from the very basic things such as posture, rhythm, and the correct way to treat the instruments, I was already building great deal of trust of him in my mind. He was certainly good and he looked really professional. Besides, I liked his teaching styles with which everybody started to build tensions in their minds and work hard to do a better perforamce.
After that day, Samulnori practice became the joy of my everyday life, and as we were getting better every time, I felt this great pleasure I have never felt in my entire life. As the show day was approaching, I became more and more excited to show this great improvement of ours to the whole audience of teachers, students and others who come to our concert. And finally, it was November 18th, the rehearsal day.

The entire first and second graders arrived at Sangmyung Art Center that looked like an Opera House, and the place was filled with numerous staffs who were about to assist us for a better show. The most impressive people there were the directors. These directors were absolutely amazing. The main director standed in the very middle of the audience seats and checked all the details meticulously throughout the performance. He checked the composition of how performers were arranged on stage, the volumes of different instruments, the colorful and atmospheric lightings and many other details that might alter the performance minutely. When a student band was playing, the director somehow managed to adjust the microphone volume of guitar, syndicate and vocal, and when he finished doing it, I was literally shocked by the extreme changes of the quality of the show. Before the adjustments, I didn't even want to hear a single note in the music but after the director made some adjustments, the song was so harmonious and lovely that I wanted to record it and keep it in my mp3 player.

I spent whole lot of time practicing Samulnori for a month, giving up my studies, and we successfully finished the Samulnori performance, receiving one of the most applause among other performances. I really enjoyed both practicing and going up on a stage. However, what I remember the most about directors moving around the whole stage back and forth so passionately. I was extremely fascinated at what these directors do. So I've searched for some stage management jobs in google and youtube, and I found this video so fascinating!!!!!

TED Video Review - Joshua Klein on the Intelligence of Crows

One of my weird characteristics is that I hate bouquets, especially the ones made with real flowers. I also hate live octopus or any kind of sashimi. I have this abnormal love towards animals and plants, especially the ones that are not taken good care of. Flower bouquets are the primary reason why so many plants are killed everyday, and innumerable christmas trees that are cut every year is a massacre to me.

Joshua, in this video, talks about similar topic using his interest in crows and others animals that are always around us and perfectly adapted to human environment.

In this 10 minute long video, what he basically talks about is how intelligent the crows are compared to other wild animals. He presents several quite interesting experiments that can prove his theory and also says that the brains of crows are very balanced just like those of chimpanzees'. The high intelligence of crows was well known since humans started researching on wild animals. One of the hilarious examples he gave is about university students catching a few crows on campus and making them irascible by measuring their heights and weights and then releasing them. After repeating the exact same procedure a several times, crows not only became more and more skeptical and developed animosity towards those certain students, but these crows also began to instigate these students constantly, by pecking them and keep on flying around them all the time. Eventually, the crows were infamous among the university students who wanted to research on the crows. Inevitably, the students had to acquiesce to the crows. One pivotal thing to point out, is that, later, even after these students graduated, the crows remembered the students and kept on following the same students. This anecdote, according to Joshua, proves that the crows have enough intelligence to be trained by 'a vending machine for crows'.

Joshua spends quite a long time explaining how the crow vending machine works and how the crows' thoughts change thoughout the process. Basically, the crows can be trained to pick up coins around the vending machine and put them into the machine in exchange of the peanuts. Normally, provincial people would just carefully scrutinize the crows to see if there are any tricks in the machine, get surprised and then just look away since picking up coins is a peripheral thing. After all, what does that matter unless we're the beggars waiting for a few coins to gather? However, here, Joshua suggests that this unprecedented machine of crows can be applied in diverse ways if we use our imagination. For example, the crows can pick up trash after a game at such a voluminous stadium, or maybe search for people in distress exhaustively around the disaster areas. Apart from these, thousands of laudable ideas can be used to utilize the machine effectively.
What Joshua was trying to say in this video was not just about crows and their vending machines. He wanted to emphasize how we could enhance the relationship between humans and other animals. As we all know, humans are trying their best to annihilate other species of animals and destroy the Earth as much as possible. We have done such terrible things to our environment for our own goods. Because of this, the media from all over the world are emphasizing the importance of keeping our environment healthy and clean, and now as a solution, we can look for ways to save both humans and the Earth simultaneously. And Joshua Klein just made himself the start point of the project.

But then I was shocked to see this comment on the TED site:

Vending Machine for Crows

Published: April 12, 2009

An article in the Year in Ideas issue on Dec. 14, 2008, reported on Josh Klein, whose master’s thesis for New York University’s Interactive Telecommunications Program proposed “a vending machine for crows” that would enable the birds to exchange coins for peanuts. The article reported that beginning in June 2008, Klein tested the machine at the Binghamton Zoo, that the crows learned how to use it and that after a month the crows were actually scouring the ground for loose change.
The Times has since learned that Klein was never at the Binghamton Zoo, and there were no crows on display there in June 2008. He performed these experiments with captive crows in a Brooklyn apartment; he told the reporter about the Brooklyn crows but implied that his work with them was preliminary to the work at the zoo. Asked to explain these discrepancies, Klein now says he and the reporter had a misunderstanding about the zoo.
The reporter never called the zoo in Binghamton to confirm. And while the fact-checker did discuss the details with Klein, he did not call the zoo, as required under The Times’s fact-checking standards. In addition, the article said that Klein was working with graduate students at Cornell University and Binghamton University to study how wild crows make use of his machine, which does exist. Klein did get a professor at Binghamton to help him try it out twice in Ithaca, with assistance from a Binghamton graduate student, and it was not a success. Corvid experts who have since been interviewed have said that Klein’s machine is unlikely to work as intended.
These discrepancies were pointed out to The Times by the Binghamton professor several weeks after the article was published; this editors’ note was delayed for additional reporting. These details should have been discovered during the reporting and editing process. Had that happened, the article would not have been published.
Although I'm a little skeptical on the practicality of the vending machine, I'm still quite sure that, if we work hard enough, we will be able to engender amiable atmosphere between wild animals and us! ;)

GLEE: Review

Glee: Drama where I found myself

Glee is an American musical comedy-drama television series that airs on Fox in the United States, and on GlobalTV in Canada. It focuses on the high school glee club New Directions competing on the show choir competition circuit, while its members deal with relationships, sexuality and social issues. (From Wikipedia)

List of Songs I love!!!

- All by myself
- Billionaire
- I look to you
- Loser like me
- Marry You (singing at a wedding)
- Listen (Dreamgirls)
- Blame it (on the alcohol) > my personal favorite movie clip!!!!!
- Forget You
- Pretending & Light Up the World (low quality picture)
- Jar of Hearts (sung when Rachel is betrayed by Finn)
- As long as you're there (Vocal Adrenaline performing)

These songs I have listed above are my favorite songs that I put in my mp3 player and listened to over a hundred times, I guess. I think these songs are amazing and they can be considered as classics. (My definition of classics: any kind of art, in this case songs that makes us feel better no matter how you feel before that)
I have watched whole 2 seasons of glee over a couple of times. When I watch dramas, it's not that there is a specific characteristic that I like, but I evaluate how I feel after watching it. Glee turned out to be very satisfactory, probably because there were whole bunch of great songs that are sung at right moments of these high school students' lives. Also, although these casts are not actually high school students, just thinking of high school in America just makes me feel excited and connected. Characters in glee go through a lot of difficulties, including girlfriend and boyfriend problems, homosexuality, teachers and students, conflicts between different clubs, family issues. Quinn, one of the characters in glee, made a baby with Puck while she was cheating on her boyfriend Finn Hudson.

It seems like, for most Korean students, that american high school students do not learn a lot or study so much compared to koreans. However, I personally think that what they learn through all these experiences are more valuable and extraordinary than merely sitting in a chair looking through textbooks. Through my indirect experiences in glee, I sometimes found myself in these characters, often in a negative way and found some ways to deal with this. Also, I could experience what will happen in my college life in America beforehand, so that it would be easy to solve these commom issues that will attack me in my near future.

While I was watching glee, I found myself sniffling with tears in my eyes or sometimes laughing with these characters. I tend to be very emotional in any kind of films, even with animation movies. This may look very stupid, but I really enjoyed sharing feelings with the characters when they faced problems that seemed like they could never be solved.

One thing I'm disappointed about glee is that the season 3 glee suddenly became terrible. There are no more wonderful songs and the story is so obvious. Also, the characters used to deal with their problems pretty well, but they started to become erratic students. I really hope the director would just get back to the original story again!

FRIENDS - Review (The one I want to be graded)

Friends: The Drama I want to write a book on. (Or a research paper like in Mr. Ganse's class...)

Friends is an American sitcom created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, which aired on NBC from September 22, 1994 to May 6, 2004. The series revolves around a group of friends in Manhattan. The series was produced by Bright/Kauffman/Crane Productions, in association with Warner Bros. Television. (From Wikipedia)
When I first came to know <Friends>, I was watching it just to spend my remaining time. Then, as soon as I was watching about 3 pieces, I was slowly falling in love with this drama.

This is the blooper for friends season 8 and 9, just for fun introduction!!! ;)

<Friends> was always with me since I was in second grade of middle school. I went through tons of stress coming from my studies, my family and my friendship problems during this period of time because <Friends> was there for me, waiting to be watched(?). ;) To sum up how much I love this drama, there are 10 seasons, with each seasons consisted of about 25 pieces, each 30 to 40 minutes, and I have watched at least three or four times of all these. If it weren't for this drama, I would have just given up everything and deviate from my goal completely.

I was so into <Friends> for several elements and I personally think this is the most perfect drama series that humans ever created. As most people would know, there are 6 main characters, Pheobe Buffay, Chandler Bing, Monica and Ross Geller, Rachel Green and Joey Tribbiani. None of them speaks more or takes more part than others and each of them have their own, very distinct characteristics, which always justifies them for doing weird things. The story itself consists of both big and small experiences these characters go through, including marriage, divorce, workplace experiences or girlfriend boyfriend problems.

What I learned most from this drama is, definitely love. While GLEE taught me how to deal with high school and university problems that are very trivial and a lot of times fake relationships, Friends gave me lessons on serious relationships, such as guys who would marry me, or even more than that. It's true that I observed many couples and watched in a very close distance of my parents, I never looked from their perspectives. However, in Friends, out of six characters here, there are four of them who get married, and I could observe very serious relationship slowly developing, with so much difficulties and conflicts, then finally reaching a point at which they get married. I don't know how the director did this, but he drew highly sophisticated picture of this process, full of pure emotions, eliminating all the fake behaviors most people do today. I really liked how such comical story developed into such an emotional story, resulting in tears in my eyes.

To prove that I'm not the only one who was greatly moved by the drama, let me give you some statistics. It is unprecedented to continue one drama for 10 years, with 10 seasons with the exact same flow of story and exact same characters on it, from 1994 to 2004. Of course, their style of wearing clothes or how they wear make-ups have changed a lot during 10 years, but the storyline hasn't changed in a single way. Also, by the time they were filming season 10, the advertisement fees in between the air of Friends skyrocketed. Friends was broadcasted in America every week, on Thursday 5 o'clock in the evening, and by the time season 10 was being aired, the New York city became so quiet suddenly, as all the people were at home, watching Friends at the same time, as there were no prevalent downloading sites on the Internet at the time. In 2004, the weekly salary each of the cast received was over a billion dollars.

If anyone of you who is reading this haven't watched Friends yet, I strongly suggest you to watch it before you die, unless you'll regret after you die. ^^

Actually I want to give 10 stars out of five, but this is all I can do!
